The elements of work related to the Project includes, but is not limited to:

Designing, furnishing, clearing, and installing construction staging laydown areas at the Tonnelle Avenue site and the Hoboken Shaft site Performing Pre-Construction Condition Surveys and preparing Construction Impact Assessment Reports (“CIAR”) of facilities within the influence of the construction.

Constructing the open cut and portal support of excavation.

Constructing the construction access road to the Hoboken Shaft site staging area.

Furnishing and installing field office, temporary mechanical and electrical systems for construction support, stormwater and groundwater discharge management systems for drainage and water discharges from surface drainage and mining, maintenance, and protection of traffic.
Coordinating and furnishing temporary construction power for TBMs, ancillary facilities, construction ventilation, lighting, and pumping.
Furnishing two new hard rock tunnel boring machines (“TBMs”) and constructing two bored tunnels, with excavation commencing at the
tunnel portal at Tonnelle Avenue construction site and mining eastward into the Hoboken Shaft, and furnishing and installing a precast
concrete tunnel lining.

Constructing six cross passages in rock, including temporary support of rock and a cast-in-place concrete tunnel lining with a waterproofing
membrane system.

Transportation of excavated tunnel material (muck) from the Palisades Tunnels and cross passages through the bored tunnels to the Tonnelle
Avenue construction site.

Constructing the Hoboken Shaft, including slurry walls, rock excavation and installing rock support, rock mass grouting at the toe of the slurry
walls, around the entire perimeter of the shaft and within the entire shaft invert.

Removing, transporting, temporary storage and disposal of excavated materials, including staging, testing, transporting, and disposal of
petroleum-contaminated materials, hazardous materials, and non-hazardous and non-petroleum contaminated materials, to approved
disposal facilities.

Furnishing, operating, and maintaining sumps, oil separators, sedimentation basins, and water treatment plants, as necessary, to meet
NJDEP requirements.

Furnishing and installing site security fences and temporary construction barriers, and noise attenuation barriers.
