The program summary on this page was last updated on 04/25/2022. If any of the information or links are out-of-date, please contact us.

The State of New Jersey offers certifications for Veteran and Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (VOBs and DVOBs). The criteria for eligibility is listed in full on the program web page. Certification can be an aid to a business when competing to obtain certain government contracts.

Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? VOBs must be certified by the state. DVOBs have the option, when applying to the state for certification, of having their certification as a service disabled veteran-owned business (SDVOB) by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs recognized by the state.

Does this certification expire? Certification status must be verified every year. Additionally, VOBs must completely renew their application for certification every three years, and DVOBs must do so every five years.
