Project Description:
The Project is intended to provide a 500 cubic foot per second (cfs) stormwater pumping station that will provide flood risk reduction to the Municipalities of Moonachie and Carlstadt, from flooding events similar to Superstorm Sandy. The Project includes installation of a 500 cfs partially below-grade pumping station, a 96 inch below-grade discharge pipe, an electrical building and an energy dissipation structure.

Pump Station: consisting of stormwater pumps, cast-in-place concrete structure, piles, slide gates, bridge crane system, monorail beam and clam bucket for screen cleaning, instrumentation.

Electrical Building: consisting of unit masonry, railings, piles, standby generator, HVAC system, motor control centers and variable frequency drives. 96-inch discharge pipe with cathodic protection, piles. Cast -in-place Energy Dissipation Structure with piles, riprap, and slope stabilization. Diesel fuel storage system, pile support, CIP retaining wall, fencing, site paving, storm water collection piping and treatment filter basins.
