Project Details

The City of Gardena and its Transportation Department (GTrans) and Public Works Department - is seeking a long term contract for the purchase of as-needed unleaded gasoline in support of its fleet of gasoline hybrid electric transit buses and Public Works service vehicles to include transport, delivery and the actual products via a turnkey contract. Currently, the City’s fuel contract is set to expire on June 30, 2023. The newly awarded contract will be in effect starting July 1, 2023. The subject fleet currently consists of forty-one (41) gasoline hybrid electric buses and six (6) battery and eighteen (18) compressed natural gas (CMG) buses. During the term of this agreement GTrans will be purchasing additional twenty-one (21) CNG buses and seven (7) battery electric buses, as a result, the quantity of gasoline purchased will be reduced over time. The Public Works Department fleet includes 80 fueled vehicles (light, medium and heavy duty) and light equipment (mowers, sidewalk grinders, chainsaws, etc.) It is anticipated that there will be no major changes in the Public Works fleet/equipment during the term of this contract. The Contract term shall be two years fixed with an additional three, one-year options. Notice to Contractor of intent to execute options shall be given prior to the end of the then-current contract, as amended. Options may be executed upon the sole discretion of the City.

Copies of the bid and any addendums may be obtained by visiting The City’ online procurement platform, “PlanetBids”, which can be accessed via GTrans webpage at: http://ridegtrans.com/contact/how-to-do-business-with-The City/
