Construction on State Highway in Riverside County at Various Locations from Krume Ditch to Wide Ditch
Contract #08-1H2004
California Department of Transportation
Desert Center, Riverside County, CA
09/08/2022 at 02:00
Project Description: The proposed Project would occur along I-10 between post mile 92.9 and 101.1 near Desert Center in Riverside County. Caltrans proposes to replace rock slope protection upstream and downstream at each of the 24 bridge crossings. Six of the 24 bridge crossings would occur adjacent to the CVMSHCP Desert Tortoise and Linkage Conservation Area. Specifically, Caltrans proposes that Project activities would remove existing rock slope protection along banks in median areas between bridge crossings, use compacted soils to rebuild bank slopes, place filter fabric on the banks, install new rock slope protection on banks to preserve structural integrity of the bride crossings, and construct temporary unpaved access roads to deliver materials and equipment during Project activities. All Project activities would occur within the Caltrans right-of-way.
