We are requesting proposals from qualified firms for the following categories: Demolition, Carpentry, Window and Door Supply, Window and Door Installation, Painting, Caulking and Sealants, and Trucking/Hauling.
Scope includes removal of existing siding, windows, and slider doors; installation of new siding, trim, windows, and sliders; weatherproofing; and exterior painting per plans, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
Participation from MBE, WBE, DBE, SBE, and DVBE firms is encouraged. The Housing Authority's goal is 20% combined participation (18% MBE / 2% WBE) or documented good‑faith efforts.
Contract plans, specifications, and all related technical documents for this project are available through the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara. Interested subcontractors may obtain access by contacting the project administrator or by requesting electronic copies through the Housing Authority's procurement office. All subcontractors must review the full project plans and specifications prior to submitting a quote, including all addenda, manufacturer installation requirements, and special conditions referenced in the bid package. Subcontractors are required to maintain current general liability and workers' compensation insurance consistent with California public‑works standards, and proof of insurance may be requested prior to award. Depending on the value and nature of the subcontracted work, performance and payment bonds may be required to ensure completion of contracted tasks in accordance with project requirements. Union membership is not required for participation; however, all subcontractors must comply with prevailing wage laws, DIR registration requirements, certified payroll reporting, and all applicable labor compliance obligations. Subcontractors must also adhere to all technical specifications governing installation methods, material standards, weatherproofing requirements, and manufacturer instructions as outlined in the project documents. It is the responsibility of each subcontractor to ensure that their work conforms to the plans, specifications, and all regulatory requirements associated with this public‑works project.
