The Work Includes:
Construction of a masonry and brick building around the existing wellhead treatment system at Station No. 28 in New Hyde Park, NY. The treatment system consists of two 12' diameter 40,000 pound granular activated carbon (GAC) vessels. Additional scope includes replacing the roof for Well Building No. 28B, new site drainage, and site improvements to repair sink holes including new asphalt paving. Existing Conditions (All Contracts, Unless Otherwise Noted): Maintenance of existing conditions; selective structural demolition. Concrete (Contract E): Cast-in-place concrete. Masonry (Contract G): Brick masonry; concrete masonry units; glass unit masonry. Metals (Contract G): Structural steel framing; metal fabrications. Wood, Plastics, and Composites (Contract G): Rough carpentry; shop-fabricated wood trusses; finish carpentry; plastic fabrications; FRP columns. Thermal and Moisture Protection (Contract G): Preparation for reroofing; damp-proofing; water repellants; thermal insulation; roof and deck insulation; air and weather barriers; asphalt shingles; vinyl and polymer siding; styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modified bituminous membrane roofing; flashing and trim; gutters and downspouts; joint sealants. Openings (Contract G): Fiberglass reinforced plastic doors and frames; door hardware; HVAC louvers. Finishes (Contract G): Gypsum board; painting; mechanical piping coating systems. Specialties (Contract G): Building signage; fire extinguishers. Plumbing (Contract G): Identification for mechanical piping and equipment; facility piping; plumbing specialties. Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (Contract G, Unless Otherwise Noted): Mechanical system identification; balancing of air systems; sequence of operations (Contracts G and E); exhaust fans; electric heaters. Electrical (Contract E): Electrical demolition; low-voltage electrical power conductors and cables; grounding and bonding for electrical systems; hangers and supports for electrical systems; raceways and boxes for electrical systems; identification for electrical systems; low-voltage transformers; panel boards; wiring devices; enclosed switches and circuit breakers; combination motor controllers; statis uninterruptible power supply; lighting. Electronic Safety and Security (Contract E): Access control; video surveillance. Earthwork (Contract G): Site clearing; rough grading; excavation; backfill; trenching. Exterior Improvements (Contract G): Recycled concrete aggregate base course; asphaltic concrete paving; Portland cement concrete paving; topsoil placement and grading; hydroseeding. Utilities (Contract G): Water quality sampling; disinfection of water facilities; disinfection of water utility distribution; water utility distribution piping; PVC pipe; storm drainage drywells. Process Integration (Contract G): Potable water process piping.
