Jett Industries, Inc. (Jett - Contractor) is assembling a bid for Contract RFB-RC-SWR-2023-06 RCSD#1 WWTP Headworks Screening Improvements in Orangeburg, NY with The Rockland County Sewer District #1 (RCSD - Owner) and extends this Request for Quotes (RFQ) to all firms (Bidder) to provide labor, materials, and/or equipment for the Project as described in these bid packages.
Access to Bid Documents:
Project and Scope documents will be posted to the FILES tab of Building Connected.
Issuance of Addenda by RCSD:
Jett will upload addenda to Building Connected internet site as received by the Owner. A notification through Building Connected will be sent to Bidders. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of addenda in writing on the Bid Proposal form or their quote.
Requests for Clarification
Any Bidder, no later than the date posted on the Project Information Page, may submit questions for interpretation or clarification of, or addenda to, this Bid. All requests must be submitted in writing and sent by email or as a message through Building Connected
DBE Goal:
This project has a 10% MBE and 6% WBE participation goal. Jett encourages minority business enterprise (MBE) firms and women business enterprise (WBE) firms to quote our projects. In addition, subcontractors and materials suppliers who contract with our firm are encouraged to utilize M/WBE subcontractors and vendors for work to be performed.
Proposal Submittal:
Proposals/Quotes, should be uploaded to Building Connected for review. If you submit via email, please let us know via messaging in Building Connected to ensure we don't miss seeing it.
Scope of Work:
The Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, constructing the Work described below and all appurtenances related to the Work. The Work shall be as follows:
1. Replacement of climber type mechanical screens with three (3) multi-rake type bar screens.
2. Replacement of serpentine type belt conveyor with screw screenings conveyor.
3. Installation of new screenings compactor.
4. Construction of new Compactor Room building adjacent to existing Screen Building, consisting of a reinforced concrete spread footing, reinforced concrete slab on grade, combination concrete and concrete masonry unit (CMU) block walls with a brick façade, and reinforced concrete roof slab and roof beams.
5. Site grading and replacement of the asphalt driveway to the new Compactor Room.
6. Rehabilitation of the existing Screening Loading Area for use as an equipment storage and maintenance area.
7. Replacement of 2-inch bypass bar racks with 1-inch bar racks.
8. Replacement of slide gates.
9. Installation of stop logs, guides, and storage racks.
10. Replacement of gas detection system.
11. Replacement of lighting.
12. Replacement of facility doors and windows.
13. Sandblast and coating of existing structural roof beams.
14. Replacement of Screen Building HVAC system including ventilation supply and exhaust fans, louvers, ductwork, unit heaters, and controls.
15. Mobilization and Site Preparation

The Bidder will be required to quote in compliance with all project plans and specifications. Non-Disclosure Agreements are provided when applicable. Addenda is posted and notification is sent to all invited bidders.
Insurance Requirements
Upon award, Subcontractors must provide insurance in accordance with our subcontract agreement. A copy of the subcontractor agreement can be found in Building Connected Project Plan Room.
Bonding Requirements
For subcontracts the Bidder shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds equal to the full subcontract price. For Material Contracts, the bidder shall furnish Supply Bonds in amount equal to full Material Contract price. Bond premiums are reimbursable by Kiewit/Mass. Electric Construction Co. Jett Industries Inc.
Please provide current bond rate with Quote/Proposal or advise if you are unable to bond so that we my address this issue.
