The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking input from the public on its triennial DBE participation goal for fiscal years 2027 through 2029. Iowa DOT is required to set such goals as a recipient of federal transit funding.
Iowa DOT is seeking input from "Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Small Business, minority, women, and general contractor groups, community organizations, and other officials" on the process. Those with input on the setting of the DBE participation goal should email Nikita.Rainey@iowadot.us or send physical mail to: Nikita Rainey, Civil Rights Bureau Director, Civil Rights Bureau, Iowa Department of Transportation, 800 Lincoln Way Ames, Iowa 50010.
Iowa DOT is also holding two public meetings (which will be simultaneously in-person and online) on the goal setting process at the Iowa Department of Transportation's headquarters at 800 Lincoln Way, Ames, in the Black Oak 2nd Floor Conference Room. The meeting from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 will cover the goal methodology setting process, and the meeting from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 will cover discussion of the proposed goal.
