City of Indianapolis launches new online certification portal

IN News - Published May 06, 2026

The Indianapolis Office of Minority and Women Business Development (OMWBD) has launched a new online platform through which the City will certify businesses as minority-, women-, veteran-, or disabled-owned business enterprises (or MBE/WBE/VBE/DOBEs). As of April 1st, 2026, all applications for such certification with the City must be made online through the portal, and no paper applications are being accepted.

The new portal offers a complete one-stop shop for certified businesses, with the ability to either apply for or renew certifications, search the directory of certified businesses, access training on using the portal, view current outreach opportunities and upcoming events, manage their profile on the system, and more. Existing certified businesses will have their current information carried over to the portal.

Find the City's page for its MBE/WBE/VBE/DOBE program, complete with link to the application, at https://www.indy.gov/activity/certify-your-minority-women-veteran-disabled-owned-business.
