Ohio DOT announces public meeting on DBE goal

OH News - Published May 31, 2022

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is inviting interested members of the public to a virtual public meeting on the Department's proposed DBE participation goal for fiscal years 2023 through 2025. Minority and woman contractors and DBEs are encouraged to attend and share their experiences in doing business, or attempting to do business, with ODOT.

Attendees will be able to receive insight into and discuss the methodology by which ODOT sets the participation goal of DBEs for the period in question. There will be time allotted for DBEs to ask questions of ODOT as well.

The comment period on the goal will be from June 1, 2022, through June 30, 2022. Comments may be submitted by physical mail to: Ohio Department of Transportation, Division of Opportunity Diversity and Inclusion – Mail Stop 3270, 1980 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223. Comments may also be emailed to Outreach@dot.ohio.gov, or submitted by phone at 614-644-8436.

There will be two sessions of the meeting, containing the same information and for the same purposes, on Thursday, June 9. The first session is from 9 AM through 11 AM; the second session is from 1 PM through 3 PM. Attendees may choose whether the morning or afternoon session fits their schedule better.

"We have the important responsibility to provide equal access to the opportunity to do business with ODOT to all companies and professionals who meet the necessary qualifications," said ODOT Director Jack Marchbanks in a statement.
