North Carolina launches Small Business Enterprise Program

NC News - Published Sep 01, 2021

The North Carolina Department of Administration's Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses has recently launched a new certification type and associated program, the Small Business Enterprise Program (NCSBE). The new program comes as part of North Carolina's ongoing efforts to support small business in the state during the effects of COVID-19.

Businesses will be considered eligible for NCSBE certification if they are headquartered in North Carolina, have annual income not exceeding $1,500,000 (after cost of goods sold is deducted), have fewer than 100 employees, and are organized for profit. Application must be made to the NCSBE program directly, and HUB certification is not a prerequisite for NCSBE certification. The NCSBE program will provide businesses with direct information about contract opportunities, as well as connect businesses with guidance and training.
