Orange County passes DVBE Preference Policy

CA News - Published Oct 20, 2020

The Orange County Board of Supervisors has unanimously passed a new Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Preference Policy for county procurement. The stated goal of the sponsors of the policy was to create county-level DVBE program that was premier in the state.

The DVBE Preference Policy will operate similiarly to the already-extant Local Small Business Preference Policy, and create a five percent incentive on bids from DVBEs on county contracts. If the DVBE is also certified as a Local Small Business in Orange County, the preference will be eight percent.

"The County's DVBE program is a fitting way to say thank you to our disabled veteran business owners," said Chairwoman Michelle Steel in a statement.
