MN News - Published Jul 11, 2018

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has recently published its disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) participation goals for the fiscal years 2019-2021. As is required for state transportation departments receiving federal money, MnDOT sets such goals on those projects based on availability of DBEs.

MnDOT has specified that its goal during the specified time period is to achieve 12.23 percent DBE participation on contracts funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and 9.12 percent DBE participation on contracts funded by the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA).

MnDOT has already held one public meeting on the 2019-2021 DBE goals, and plans to hold three more, for the purpose of discussing goals and methodology and receiving public comment. The three meetings will be held on July 11th at 9 AM (at the Hiway Federal Credit Union, 840 Westminster St, Saint Paul), on July 13th at 9 AM (at MnDOT District 1 headquarters, 1123 Mesaba Ave, Duluth), and on July 23rd at 1 PM (at the Ewald Conference Center, 1000 Westgate Dr, Saint Paul).

In addition, the goals and the executive summary of the goals are available for public inspection from July 3rd to July 31st, 2018 at MnDOT's location at 395 John Ireland Blvd, St. Paul. Public comments will also be accepted during this period, ending on July 31st, 2018.
