Certification as such gives a business an edge when it comes time to take part in City of Houston projects with MWSBE or PDBE participation goals.

Does this certification expire? Certification is valid for a period of three years. After this period, certification must be updated using specified procedures.

Does this program require bidders attempt to make a good-faith effort to meet participation goals? Yes, bidders must make a good-faith effort to meet the participation goal as part of contract compliance when such a goal has been attached to a given project.
