The Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS) maintains the program for Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE). Socially and economically disadvantaged businesses meeting certain criteria may become participants in the EDGE program, which applies to procurements of supplies and services, professional services, information technology services, construction, and professional design services. Businesses that are participants in EDGE become eligible to be counted towards EDGE participation goals on certain state contracts.

Does this certification expire? The certification is valid for two years. After that an EDGE business must demonstrate (and such demonstration must be made before expiry) that they are still valid to pass certification criteria.

Is any loan or bonding assistance provided through this program? Yes, EDGE businesses certified by DAS thereby become eligible for certain programs, such as (as listed by DAS) the Capital Access Program Ohio, the Mini-Loan Guarantee Program, the Collateral Enhancement Program, and the Targeted investment Program.
