Through the Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion's Veteran Business Program (VBP), veteran businesses can become certified to become eligible to participate in procurement as such. Businesses already certified with Cook County, the City of Chicago, or the Veteran Small Business Certification VetCert program as administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration can have their application expedited through a special application process.

Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? Businesses certified through Cook County, the City of Chicago, or the Veteran Small Business Certification VetCert program as administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration are eligible to receive a Recognition Certification.

Does this certification expire? Certification is valid for five years, with an annual No Change Affadavit required. Recognition made through the Recognition Certification process is valid for one year.
