SBA VOSB/SDVOSB Program

The program summary on this page was last updated on 03/30/2022. If any of the information or links are out-of-date, please contact us.

The Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) Programs can assist veteran-owned businesses in multiple ways. VOSBs and SDVOSBs can compete for set-aside projects from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Additionally, legislation requires that not less than 3 percent of the total value of all government contracting be fulfilled by small businesses owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. Currently, the VOSB program is still administered by the VA, but in 2023, it is due to be transferred to the oversight of the the U.S. Small Business Administration (U.S. SBA). The VA does not recognize SDVOSB self-certification, but the SBA does and will recognize SDVOSB self-certification.
