The Savannah Business Opportunity Program (SBO) is a City of Savannah program run by the Office of Business Opportunity which aims to increase utilization of local small businesses in City procurement. The SBO can certify certain small businesses meeting the specified criteria as a Savannah Business Enterprise or SBE. Once certified as an SBE companies are eligible to participate in a program whereby contracts below $100,000 are reserved for qualified SBEs unless two or fewer certified SBEs are registered as being capable of performing the work. Other benefits of SBE certification include listing in a directory and eligibility to participate in a variety of training programs, workshops, and similar opportunities.
