The Florida's Equal Opportunity Office (EOC) administers the state Department of Transportation's (FDOT) disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) program. FDOT relies on the work of the EOC to certify DBEs. The DBE program includes a Unified Certification Program to allow for DBEs to become certified a single time, as opposed to needing to be certified with each specific agency the DBE intends to work with. The EOC maintains a directory of DBEs for firms wanting to make a good faith effort to reach out to those DBEs.

Are there multiple agencies that offer this certification in the state? Application is made through the Florida Unified Certification Program.

How do I get re-certified? Once certified a DBE must submit a No Change Declaration annually along with current business taxes (along with affiliates).
