Ragnar Benson LLC is seeking proposals for Caltrans Contract No. 09-213404 The Project includes widening U.S Highway 395 from two lanes to four lanes near the communities of Olancha and Cartago, by constructing a controlled-access, four-lane divided expressway. The purpose of the Project is to accommodate increased traffic demands by improving levels of service, enhance safety by allowing faster traffic to pass slower vehicles and by separating opposing lanes of traffic, and to provide route continuity.

The utmost consideration will be given to dividing total requirements into smaller activities or quantities, which will permit maximum participation where feasible. Subcontracts will be awarded based on price and ability to perform work.

Project Description: Work items include, but are not limited to the following: Lead compliance plan, develop water supply, SWPPP, clearing and grubbing, grading, structure excavation & backfill, concrete barrier, treated wood waste disposal, furnishing and placing aggregate base, Rock Slope Protection, landscaping, hydroseeding, asphalt paving, cold planning, roadway signage, fence construction, surveying, structural concrete, culvert drainage and installation, painted cattle guards, traffic control, pavement markings, precast girders, bridge demolition, bridge construction, reinforcing, Electrical (Traffic Monitoring Station System), paint & staining, furnish ready mix concrete, Tortoise, Wire & Chain link Fence, guardrail, trucking.

Proposals Are Due on Wednesday, October 6th 2021 by 2:00 PM (PST). Proposal submittal is needed at least 24 hours prior to our bid submittal to Caltrans on Thursday, October 7th 2021 to allow for final bid preparation.

Contractor License: A valid California Contractor License is required to bid this project. Please list your contractor license number on your proposal along with your Public Works Contractor Registration Number.

Bond: Please include a separate cost on your proposal for the total value or rate for providing a Payment and Performance Bond.

Taxes: Project is NOT tax exempt. Please include all required taxes in your proposal.
