Project Details

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the masonry construction of 100 feet of seatwall with natural stone veneer, natural stone slab stairs, the stabilization and formalization of a stream bank through the placement of large boulders along approximately 35 feet of the shoreline, installation of natural stone pavers, fabrication of a custom shade structure, landscape plantings, and the installation of site and electrical furnishings. The design emphasizes stonework of high craftsmanship and metal fabrication of artisan quality. The conceptual plan for the Creek Walk Pocket Park embraces the site's past, borrowing from the footprint of the former Bickelmann Building to create a centerpiece seat wall and creek overlook. A shade structure anchors the Southeast corner of the lawn surrounded by native ornamental plantings and shade trees. The Sawmill Creek's edge will be stabilized naturally with vegetation and boulders. Clusters of boulders will create a secondary seating and exploration area at the creek's edge. The park will connect to Main Street by a natural stone stepped pathway with integral boulder placement and native plantings. The Creek Walk Park project is funded by New York State and a 15% MBE and 15% WBE utilization goal has been established for this project. We ask that bidders complete forms to describe the good faith efforts the bidder has made and will make to solicit and meaningfully engage certified firms. The Village also supports efforts to engage firms owned by service-disabled Veteran's.
