Is seeking qualified DBEs, MBEs, WBEs

The work of this Contract includes general rehabilitation of the Central Substation building including its electrical, mechanical and communication systems, furnishing and installation of new high-tension service, transformer & rectifier unit, replacing the substation DC breaker lineup in the basement with a new lineup on the main floor and other associated monitoring and control work. The work includes rehabilitation of three negative manholes in the vicinity of Lexington Avenue and 53rd street in the Borough of Manhattan. Additionally, the Substation will require removal of all paint finishes within the Substation FL 1, basement and select other locations, repointing of existing brick and brick repairs in the Substation FL1, basement and select other areas, repainting of multiple areas, and crack/spall repairs in multiple areas.

Drawings & Specifications
Contract documents, including plans & specifications are listed in our Online Plan room and are provided as a courtesy to the Bidder. The files can be viewed and downloaded. The Bidder will be required to quote in compliance with all project plans and specifications. Non-Disclosure Agreements are provided when applicable. Addenda is posted and a notification is sent to all invited bidders.

Insurance Requirements
This is an OCIP Project. Upon award, Subcontractors must provide insurance in accordance with our subcontract agreement. A copy of the subcontractor agreement can be found in SmartBidNet Project Plan Room.

Bonding Requirements
For subcontracts the Bidder shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds equal to the full subcontract price. For Material Contracts, the Bidder shall furnish Supply Bonds in amount equal to full Material Contract price. Bond premiums are reimbursable by /Mass. Electric Construction Co. Please provide current bond rate with Quote/Proposal or advise if you are unable to bond so that we my address this issue.
