With the introduction of the ORT system at Manhattan, Queens, and Bronx the focus of the study shifted from electrical improvements at the Manhattan Plaza to all three tolling locations.
The intent is to provide each of the ORT locations with redundant sources of power to allow them to operate when primary service is impacted as well as under emergency conditions. This work includes upgrading equipment, installation of generators, switchgear, distribution panels, replacing substations, and installing service feeders from separate sources to each of the substations associated with the tolling operations at RFK.
In addition, this project shall also cover the removal of the existing boilers for the Robert Moses Building and construction of a new boiler room and boilers to support the operations of the building.
This project will design and implement the work to remove the existing North Widening(WB traffic flow direction) columns, deck and superstructure of the Manhattan Plaza between Bents 95 and 103, reconstruct the edge of the existing slab install a new TL-5 barrier and install new light poles and drainage system.
This project will also include replacement of the existing drip pan system at two locations in the 13kV Room. The work will include the cleaning out of the existing downspouts associated with the system.

Drawings & Specifications
Contract documents, including plans & specifications are listed in our Online Plan room and are provided as a courtesy to the Bidder. The files can be viewed and downloaded. The Bidder will be required to quote in compliance with all project plans and specifications. Non-Disclosure Agreements are provided when applicable. Addenda is posted and a notification is sent to all invited bidders.

Insurance Requirements
Upon award, Subcontractors must provide insurance in accordance with our subcontract agreement. A copy of the subcontractor agreement can be found in SmartBidNet Project Plan Room.

Bonding Requirements
For subcontracts the Bidder shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds equal to the full subcontract price. For Material Contracts, the Bidder shall furnish Supply Bonds in amount equal to full Material Contract price. Bond premiums are reimbursable by Mass. Electric Construction Co. Please provide current bond rate with Quote/Proposal or advise if you are unable to bond so that we my address this issue.
