General Project Description:
The project involves the structural, mechanical, electrical and architectural rehabilitation of the Broadway Bridge over the Harlem River. The major work entails the replacement of the roadway deck and supporting stringers, replacement of the median, replacement of pedestrian fence, rehabilitation of the mechanical operating systems, complete replacement of the electrical operating systems including replacement of the submarine cables with droop cables, rehabilitation of the Control House, the two Machinery Houses, Gateman's House and the two Gateman's Shelters. Work also includes localized Structural repairs along with the addition of platforms and ladders.
