The Work includes, in general, the demolition and removal of the existing catenary structures, railroad buildings and the Montauk Cutoff Bridge and ramp, and the construction of the Mid-Day Storage Yard, which includes excavation and grading of the yard, construction of retaining walls, ductbanks, signal troughs and catenary structures, utilities, pedestrian bridge and substations. The Work also includes installation and testing of eight (8) Central Instrument Locations (CIL’s), performance of integrated testing of the yard’s systems and support of the integrated systems testing performed by the Adjacent Contractors. The Work is located within Sunnyside Yard/Harold Interlocking area in Queens, NY, and includes Base Contract Work as well as one (1) Contract Option.
