The Mississippi Development Authority's Minority and Small Business Development Division offers a Minority Business Certification Program. Certification allows businesses to receive assistance with marketing and identifying procurement opportunities, and also entitles such businesses to be listed in the Minority Business Directory.

The eligibility guidelines are described on the application, and include (but are not limited to) certain strictures on the owners maintaining residence within the state of Mississippi and specifications describing the maximum net worth of those owners and their overall share of ownership of the relevant business.
