The Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) of the Operational Services Division (OSD) for Massachusetts accepts and processes applications for the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Minority and Woman Business Enterprise (M/WBE),and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certification in the state. Unlike in other states, firms cannot directly submit an application for MBE, WBE, or M/WBE certification. Instead, they must first attend a free, two-hour pre-certification session hosted by the SDO.

Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? Out-of-state applicants must have attained certification in their home state, view a webcast, and provide certain materials and applications to SDO.

Does this certification expire? Certification lasts three years. Certified firms will be provided with a letter before expiry letting them know which materials must be submitted in order to be recertified. A substantive review is also part of the process.
