Granite Construction Company (Granite) is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following items of work, including but not limited to Sand & Gravel Supplier (Bulk Item), Asphalt Supplier(Bulk Item), Pilings Supplier, Concrete & Cement Supplier(Bulk Item), Reinforcing Bar Section Supplier, Steel Supplier, Construction Staking, Traffic Control Supplier, Construction Area Signs, Traffic Control System, Traffic Flagger, Temporary Railing (Type K), Remove Concrete, Remove Bridge Item, Modify Bridge Item, Clearing & Grubbing, Develop Water Supply, Roadway Excavation, Grading, Structure Excavation, Structure Backfill, Imported Borrow, Hydroseeding, Temporary Erosion Control, Aggregate Base (AB), Cement Treated Base, Asphalt Concrete, Paving Asphalt (Asphalt Concrete), Pavement Reinforcing Fabric, Drilled Hole, Cast-In-Drilled-Hole Concrete Piling, Concrete Structure, Joint Seal " Water Stop, Reinforcing Steel, Waterproofing, Steel Structures, Roadside Sign, Subsurface Drain, Plastic Pipe, Misc Bridge Metal, Saw Cutting, Temporary Fencing, Environmental " Water Quality, SWPPP Planning, Bottom Dump Truck, Super 10 Dump Truck, Water Truck, Street Sweeping Truck, Trucker Broker, Trucker, Crane Work, Water Meter & Temp Facilities, "Cutting Concrete or Excavation", Sandblasting, Construction Staking (Surveying).

General work description: All of the work to be performed is within the City of Ukiah and includes transportation and pedestrian improvements, sanitary sewer and water main replacements, and undergrounding overhead utilities on State Street between Cherry Street and Mill Street and Henry Street and Norton Street. The roadway/pedestrian work includes demolition of sidewalks, curb and gutter and cold planing the existing roadway surface, along with construction of new curb and gutter, bulb-outs, sidewalk, accessible curb ramps, asphalt overlay, storm drain modifications street lighting, landscaping and traffic signal modifications. The utility work includes potable water main, fire water and sanitary sewer utility improvements. Work includes abandoning existing water pipelines and service laterals, removal of existing hydrants and water meters, demolition of existing sanitary sewer main and sewer manholes, construction of new hydrant laterals and water hydrants, water meters, connection to existing water services and construction of sanitary sewer mains, sanitary sewer manholes and sanitary sewer laterals, cleanouts and connection to existing sanitary sewer building services and mains. The scope also includes repair of disturbed surfaces including existing roadway services and sidewalks. The undergrounding work involves trench, backfill, compact and install underground conduits for electric, AT&T and Comcast. Install vault(s), boxes, secondary service boxes for electric, AT&T and Comcast. Install electric box pads for switch, transformer(s) and pedestal(s) (installed by Contractor, provided by City) for underground duct system.

The DBE Contract goal is 8% percent. Federal-aid project no.: STPL-5920(175). Please let us know which bid items will be covered in your proposal and if you can help us meet the DBE Goal 16%. Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price. Granite will pay for bond premium up to 1.5%. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator.
