The intent of this project is to replace the bridge along Rumson Road over the Shrewsbury River on a new alignment approximately 85 feet to the south of the existing bridge. The proposed structure will be a movable bridge at the same profile as the existing bridge. The work to be performed under this Contract consists of the construction of a new eight span steel girder superstructure, including a steel double leaf bascule span along with approach roadway improvements including but not to limited to:

- Reinforced concrete deck, sidewalks and open rail parapets
- Semi-integral reinforced concrete abutments comprised of a reinforce concrete footing supported by a single row of 5-foot diameter drilled shafts with reinforced concrete retaining walls
- Approach span piers are two column reinforced concrete piers supported by a reinforced concrete footing, supported by 2 rows of 5-foot diameter drilled shafts
- Bascule piers are closed pit reinforced concrete piers supported by 3 rows of 5-foot diameter drilled shafts
- The approach span superstructure consists of steel welded plated girders with spans ranging from 99 feet to 103 feet in length
- The bascule span is a steel double leaf span that is 105 feet from center to center of trunnion
- The deck over the counterweight is supported by steel beams
- Construction of a new fender system
- Installation of cast-in-place concrete cantilever retaining walls at four corners of the bridge
- Bulkhead installation on he east and west side of the river
- Approach roadway work including intersection improvements at Rumson Road and Ward Avenue as well as Rumson Road and Route 36
- Approach roadway drainage improvements
- Installation of a new traffic signal and ITS at the Rumson Road and Route 36 Intersection
- Bridge and roadway lighting
- Utility services to the bridge
- A new walkway in West Park
- Demo of the existing structure
- Riparian Zone Mitigation Project

In addition, the work includes the coordination with NJAW for the relocation of the water main on Route 36. JCP & L, NJNG and NJAW facilities at the Rumson Road and Ward Avenue intersection to be relocated in advance of project's construction. The work also includes other incidental and necessary work shown on the Construction Plans and as further described herein.

Plans, Specifications, Addendum, and Boiler Plate Templates of our Subcontract/Purchase Order ("Agreement") are available on SmartBidNet.com, your firm will be required to execute IF AWARDED the contract. You must base your bid upon the contractual terms and conditions as they are reflected in the Agreement, without amendment. The upstream contractual environment on the Project is demanding and we will not entertain revision to the contractual boilerplate, which should instead be reflected in your bid price.
