Project Details
Granite Construction Northeast, Inc. (Granite or GCN) is planning to submit a Proposal for the New York State Bridge Authority (NYSBA) Contract BA-2019-RE-117-CM for the Mid-Hudson Bridge Truss Hanger, Railing & Joint Rehabilitation / Newburgh-Beacon Bridge (South Span) Miscellaneous Repairs project ('Mid-Hudson & Newburgh Beacon Bridges Rehabilitation').

The scope of work for the Project includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
A. Mid-Hudson Bridge:
1. Rehabilitation of the Curb & Bridge Railing: This work consists of the fabrication of new curb sections; rehabilitation of existing curb sections; removal & installation of new & rehabilitated curb sections; replacement of railing post anchor bolts; concrete repairs to the existing concrete filled steel grid deck; & cleaning, pressure washing & painting of the deck overhangs.

2. Rehabilitation of Truss Pin & Hangars: This work consists of the removal & installation of temporary support pin & hanger system; removal of the existing pin & hanger metalwork; & fabrication & installation of the new pin & hanger metalwork.

3. Rehabilitation of the Joint Metalwork: This work consists of installation & removal of the temporary support for the joint support metalwork; removal of the existing joint support metalwork; fabrication & installation of the new joint support metalwork.

4. Miscellaneous Steel Repairs: This work consists of repairing various locations with deteriorated sidewalk stringers & deteriorated cantilever sidewalk brackets.

B. Newburgh-Beacon Bridge (South Span):
1. Miscellaneous Repairs: This work consists of bearing rehabilitation, concrete repairs to a pedestal & the stemwall, & joint seal replacement at the west abutment of the South Span of the Bridge.

Goals (NYS Certification):
MBE - 2%
WBE - 3%
SDVOB - 1%

Project Duration - Approximately 18 months
Anticipated Notice to Proceed (NTP): June 1, 2020

Project Completion: December 31, 2021


The Mid-Hudson Bridge & Newburgh-Beacon Bridges Rehabilitation project has MBE, WBE & SDVOB participation opportunities, and Granite, is seeking qualified State of New York certified M/WBE's & SDVOB's to provide Subcontract/Supplier/Service Opportunities for categories that potentially include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Bird Control (Mat'l); Bridge Rail; Concrete (Bag Mix); Concrete Repair; Crew/Work Boat; Curb (Steel); Electrical; Fencing; Field Office; Fuel Supply; Jacking; Janitorial Services; Lead Abatement; Maintenance & Protection of Traffic (MPT); Miscellaneous Metals; Painting (Bridge); Powerwash (Bridge); Sanitary Facilities; Sawcutting; Scaffolding / Platforms / Containment System; Signage (temporary); Structural Steel
