Ghilotti Construction Company, Inc. is seeking certified DBE subcontractors, suppliers & truckers for the Local Streets and Roads Preservation Project in Contra Costa County. The work to be done generally consists of rehabilitation and preservation of roadway on three County roads. Pavement grinding and inlay will be done starting on El Portal Drive at the Richmond City Limit and continuing onto San Pablo Dam Road until the Richmond City Limit is reached near Tri Lane. Vasco Road is to have a micro-surface treatment applied to the travel lanes and a fog seal applied to the shoulders between the Frisk Creek Bridge and the Alameda County line. Additionally, there will be pavement failure and base failure repair, replacement of pavement striping and pavement markings, replacement of traffic signal loops, and construction of curb ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Quotes requested include, but are not limited to, the following scopes of work: FABRIC & OILS, CAS, TRAFFIC CONTROL, COLD PLANE AC, EROSION CONTROL, ASPHALT PAVING, CONCRETE CURB & SIDEWALK-MISC., THERMOPLASTIC TRAFFIC STRIPING & PAVEMENT MARKINGS, ASPHALTIC EMULSION (FOG SEAL COAT), MICRO-SURFACING - AGGREGATE TYPE II BLACK ROCK & EMULSION, STREET SWEEPING, MATERIAL SUPPLIER & TRUCKING. Engineer's Estimate: $5,091,000 / DBE Goal: 10% / 50 WD / $6,800 / day LDs. Submit quotes by Noon on bid date. Contact our estimator for more information. Mr. Mark Mahboubi (707/585-1221 or markm@ghilotti.com) is the Estimator for this project and is available to provide you with assistance to clarify any questions regarding the scope of work, including interpretation of plans, specifications and requirements, bid preparation and obtaining bonds, lines of credit, insurance and any technical assistance. GCC may also assist in obtaining any necessary equipment, supplies, materials or related services. (Please note: GCC may require Payment & Performance Bonds on all sub-contracts over $25,000 per Ca. Public Contract Code Sect. 4108. GCC will pay bond premiums up to 1 ½% of contract cost. GCC is a UNION CONTRACTOR. Any non-signatory subcontractors will be required to sign an agreement for trades covered under our agreements.)

Plans, specifications and project requirements may be reviewed at our office in Santa Rosa. Plans and specifications can also be obtained via the Contra Costa County Public Works Department's Online Planroom at www.cccounty.us/pwprojects. A non-refundable service charge for bid documents is required in the amount of $40.00 (sales tax included). Plans may also be viewed or purchased through local plan rooms, builder's exchanges, or Dodge Scan. Ghilotti Construction Company encourages the use of minority and women subcontractors and suppliers and considers such to be an important aspect of the project.

Req: By submitting a proposal, the bidder affirms that they have carefully examined ALL the bidding documents/Addenda and that from his/her own investigation, they have satisfied themselves as to the nature and location of the work. GCC's written subcontract document execution is required of all successful subcontract bidders. Inconsistent bid terms and conditions shall be void.

Insurance: As per our insurance requirements, your bid must include the cost of naming GCC as additional insured; including completed operations coverage; Use form 'CG-2010-1185' or equivalent; include Primary and Non-Contributing wording on your certificate of insurance and waiver of subrogation is required.
