Project Details
The work to construct the Waterfront Drive Connection Phase II Project consists of demolition, removal, and disposal/salvage/recycling of existing concrete slabs, a portion of an existing steel and rail bulkhead wall, asphalt surfacing, berms, and abandoned utilities, as well as relocation of fencing, and relocation of stormwater gabions on adjacent property. The project includes construction of Waterfront Drive road and utility improvements from "J" Street to just west of "G" Street, as well as similar "I" Street improvements south to the existing alley between Waterfront Drive and Second Street. These improvements include the installation of temporary construction fencing; construction surveying and staking; earthwork and grading; handling and disposal of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil and groundwater; construction of concrete curbs, concrete medians, and asphalt concrete pavement; installation of street signage and striping; landscaping; fencing; water, storm drain, and sanitary sewer utilities; connections to existing wet utility facilities; retaining wall construction along "I" Street; railroad underground utility crossings and coordination with the Northcoast Railroad Authority; coordination with the City and dry utility companies (PG&E, AT&T, SuddenLink, etc.) for construction by Contractor of a new underground utility corridor and appurtenances under the sidewalk along the northern side of the new Waterfront Drive corridor, connecting to the Waterfront Drive Connection Phase 2 dry utility stubouts and the lower "I" Street and "H" Street corridors, and construction of new street/median lighting services and appurtenances (light standards to be supplied and installed by PG&E), for concurrent installation;

Mercer Fraser Company will work with interested subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages. Mercer-Fraser Company is a union signatory contractor. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor's license, worker's compensation and insurance coverage during the entire length of the prime contract. 100% Performance and Payment Bonds may be required. Conditions or exceptions in Subcontractor's quote are expressly rejected unless accepted in writing. All Subcontractors will be required to sign our standard Subcontract Agreement. Plans and specifications are available for viewing at our office or you may call Mercer-Fraser Company for further assistance. Please call if assistance is needed in obtaining bonding, insurance, equipment, materials and supplies.
