Construction of a new, 3-span steel girder bridge at the Esopus Creek (approximately 7 feet higher in elevation than destroyed former trestle bridge); removal of the failed trestle bridge structure (approximately 300 feet; 4-span) in and near the Esopus Creek; installation of a crushed stone layer over existing ballast in the two trail segments to be completed (approximately 2.3 miles).

The removal of railroad rail, ties, and other track materials and the felling and disposal of hazard trees along with the rough grading of the project site are completed. There may be a very minor amount of incidental ties or metal from the previous contracts that will need to be removed and disposed. Access to the Project site is limited to two existing DEP access gates (Gate W-12 and Gate W-7).
