PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This Project includes the following elements of Work:
Demolition and removal of the existing 48" & 60" sewer lines, including cleaning of the sewer lines, shafts,
and tunnel; demolition and removal of the 24" water line and corresponding supports, along with all
relevant surface connections to the in the 3rd Avenue West Utilidor (Utilidor).
Installation of a new 24" welded steel water main in the shafts and tunnel with connections to the
existing 24" water main (including new valves and cathodic protection); and a new bracing system for the
existing shafts (to be completed in sequence with the demolition of existing support in the shafts).
Installation will also include all associated electrical and instrumentation work, including relocation of the
existing SCADA panel, connection to a new water main pressure transmitter; and a new 12" ductile iron
water main connection to Canal Street.
Construction of a new water main valve chamber adjacent to the north shaft, and construction of a new
water main valve chamber using existing afterbay structure at the south shaft.
Restoration of the site and relevant street improvements on both the north and south sides of the
project area.
