Tutor Perini Corporation, an EEO Employer, is currently soliciting cost proposals from Qualified and Certified M/WBE & SDVOB subcontractors / vendors / service providers, for TN - 49 Replacement of Roadway Deck in Suspended Spans at the Throgs Neck Bridge PROJECT IN THE BOROUGHS OF QUEENS. The Work to be performed under this Contract may briefly be described as follows: replacement of existing concrete-filled grid deck with orthotropic steel deck within the suspended spans at the Throgs Neck Bridge (TNB); installation of new median and side barriers throughout the TNB suspended spans; installation of new fire standpipes between the TNB Bronx Abutment and the Queens Anchorage; installation of new roadway lighting within the TNB suspended spans and Queens Approach; removal and replacement of four (4) suspender ropes; steel repairs, strengthening and painting of the TNB main trusses and floor trusses and other associated work.

The scope of work includes, but shall not be limited to, the following general items;

1. Replacement of the existing concrete filled steel grid deck and stringers with a new orthotropic deck system with waterproofing membrane and Rosphalt overlay in the suspended spans through staged construction including new concrete median and steel fascia barriers, elimination of the existing safety walks, and the installation of new modular joints at the towers and anchorages.
2. Replacement of the existing reinforced concrete deck at the anchorages and towers, including new waterproofing membrane and Rosphalt overlay.
3. Strengthening of the Stiffening Trusses and Floorbeam Trusses
4. Construction of a new drainage system on the suspended spans and a new roadway lighting system on the suspended spans and Queens Approach.
5. Replacement of existing overhead signs and sign structures throughout the Bridge.
6. Construction of a new fire standpipe system from the Bronx Approach to the Queens Anchorage.
7. Replacement of the existing low voltage and communications conduits and provide new supports for the conduits in the suspended spans.
8. Suspender rope replacement.
9. Opening of Main Cable for inspection
10. Maintenance painting of suspended spans steel structures including areas affected during construction
