General work description: The roadway construction improvements proposed along Willow Street will terminate in the southerly direction along Willow Street at Bonita Road, in the northerly direction at Valley Vista Road, and approximately 800 feet along the easterly segment of Sweetwater Road. The proposed improvements include complete pavement reconstruction, curb and gutters, sidewalks, driveways, cross gutter, Class II bike lanes to match the existing bike lanes, and signing and striping. The existing traffic signal at the intersection of Willow Street with Sweetwater Road will be replaced to accommodate the new street geometry and the entire intersection will be reconstructed to meet current standards. The traffic signal will also regulate all directions, and modes of traffic through the intersection. Pedestrian facilities to be incorporated into the project include adding 5-foot-wide, 6-inch-thick sidewalks along both sides of the proposed bridge. Standard sidewalks to meet or replace existing sidewalks along Willow Street and Sweetwater Road will also be constructed to continue the course of travel for pedestrians. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant pedestrian ramps are proposed at the intersection of Willow Street with Sweetwater Road and the non-ADA compliant ramps at the Willow Street and Bonita Road intersection will be reconstructed to meet current standards.

For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply: Every Subcontractor is required to be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (“Section 1725.5”). No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement.
