Construction Management Training for Certified Disadvantaged, Minority and Women Owned Businesses

Seeking certified MWBEs and DBEs working on public works heavy construction projects...

Build your business by building your knowledge in how to operate as a subcontractor in the heavy civil construction industry. Manhattan College’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is offering a four day construction management training course on January 4, 5, 10, 11 for certified DBEs or MWBEs that specialize in heavy civil construction.

The course, sponsored by the General Contractors Association of New York, is designed to help disadvantaged, minority and women owned construction firms working in public works /heavy construction improve their competitiveness in the public works market. The four day comprehensive course will cover estimating, scope and specifications, project planning and coordination, scheduling and resource utilization, document controls, financial management, cost & profitability, payroll and prevailing wage, construction safety quality, contract law, bonding, insurance, accounting and regulatory compliance.

Alameda Contra-Costa Transit District
Branding of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Service

The District is seeking proposals from qualified firms for the brand development of the District’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. This new brand will be promoted as the District’s “top of the line” service. The identity created must still be supportive of the overlying AC Transit brand and work synergistically with the rest of AC Transit’s service offerings. The procurement requirements are described in the Request for Proposal (RFP) 2012-1185 and detailed information is further provided within the Scope of Services. A pre-proposal conference will be held on December 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., local time, at 1600 Franklin Street, Oakland, CA 94612 in the 2nd floor Board room. Teleconference will be made available.
